Infinite West explores fixes to recycling conundrum–Sky High News, Sunday, January 17, 2010
    8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 20 at the YMCA/Snow Mountain Ranch, Schlessman Commons A & B
A follow-up meeting is scheduled for 3-5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 22 to present the final plan and invite discussion.
For more information or to sign up, contact Infinite West 970-531-6073.

This meeting was very well attended with over 60 participants. From this meeting came Grand Resource and Recycling Coalition (GRRC), whose first focus will be on recycling opportunities in Grand County Colorado.

  2. Laura M. Hagar says:

One of the most pressing challenges Grand County faces is recycling. Because this affects every Grand County resident, Infinite West hopes citizens can come together to formulate a plan that will allow the county’s set of communities to act together to promote comprehensive recycling in Grand County, as well as treat the local waste stream as a resource to help fuel jobs and create a sustainable industry. “This process will involve working collaboratively to explore options for creative long-term solutions that work for Grand County, rather than simply applying ‘Band-Aids,’” said Infinite West Founder Tim Hodsdon.

Infinite West will be celebrating Earth Day with Granby, Colorado.

In true Western, Free-Spirited fashion, Granby, Colorado will be celebrating Earth Day, but one month later!

Typically, Earth Day is celebrated the world over on April 22, but in the Colorado Rockies, at 8,000 feet above sea level, the weather can be, let’s just say, unpredictable. In an effort to make sure that we can truly celebrate in Grand outdoor fashion, Granby has moved the date to Saturday, May 22.

We at Infinite West are proud to help sponsor this event, and look forward to the great food, music lineup and activities that the Granby Chamber of Commerce & This Side of Berthoud have put together.

Bands like Hunker Down, Ohm Tribe, Rob Drabkin and Claddagh will be featured at the event. Local and green businesses will be there, too. Look for the Infinite West tent to learn more about our current and ongoing efforts to promote sustainable communities in the Rocky Mountains.

    Granby’s Earth Day will be:

    Saturday May 22
    Polhamus Town Park
    11am – 7pm in Granby, CO

For more information, or if you would like to sponsor or participate in this event, visit the website below, or call (850) 725 3092 or
    (970) 424-1239. See you there!

Please join us tonight (Tues. 2/15/2011) at the Silver Creek Inn Convention Center (Granby) at 6:30 pm to meet the Governor’s Economic Development Plan Team. They are working on a ‘Bottom-Up’ economic development plan, guided by the citizens of each county.

If you believe that this plan should emphasize strategies that include green building, environmental protection, alternative energies, and sustainable community initiatives, please join this meeting and let your voice be heard. To learn more about the Bottom-Up Economic Plan, follow this link:
